MIT STUDENTS VISIT AT NSB-NIILM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
 
 
A Guest Speaker Session was organised for the students of MIT, US at NSB-NIILM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS on 27th Jan. 2011, who are here under our Discover India Program.
The duration of the programme was for one day and was organized at the conference hall NSB-NIILM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, New Delhi. Ms. Rita Sachdev ,Director NSB-NIILM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS in her address to the students of MIT, US discussed the importance of the Session "Indian Financial Market and Vibrant Capital Market "as how the world as a global village, is emerging as an international business arena and is throwing challenges to existing and potential practitioners. Mr. Nikhil Kulshrestha , Dean Academics welcomed the students and discussed about how the challenge of successfully navigating a business through an economic downturn lies in the realignment of a business with current economic realities.

The Guest Speaker Session was taken by Prof. V.K.Dhawan The session was especially designed to develop a comprehensive understanding for the students of MIT, US on Indian Financial Market and Vibrant Capital Market. Emphasis was laid on India's potential as emerging global power and to learn more about its happening Capital market and consequent economic trade.

Prof. V.K.Dhawan took a very comprehensive session starting up with the glimpse of Indian Financial & Capital markets, past and present, followed by making them understand about the constraints under which both the markets have been operating till reforms were introduced in early 90's .He further discussed about the delineation of reforms undertaken in both markets and their consequent growth effect. Finally he ended up with the present state of Indian economy, riding on back of improved systems and procedures and why we feel confident that that current fast track growth in Indian economy is sustainable, notwithstanding the global financial tsunami of 2008, which shook foundations of financial economies, on both sides of Atlantic, shocks of which are still being felt on western side.
There was heavy discussion amongst the participants and lot of enthusiasm was seen during the session. The session provided an opportunity for the students for evaluating theoretical concepts and transforming them into realistic plans.
