After the end of placements season, it's time for B-school grads to wear the black gown and walk up to the dais and receive their diplomas. So it was the convocation time at NSB-NIILM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS! Convocations is also a good time to review the progress that leading B-schools are making.

NSB-NIILM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS hosted its annual convocation on 4th December 2010.

At the convocation, students from the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDBM) received their diplomas. The chief guest for the occasion was Prof. Ashoke K. Dutta, IIM Shillong. Prof. D.K. Banwet, Department of Management Studies, IIT New Delhi was the distinguished Guest of Honour at the Convocation.Also present were the, Vinay Rai President Rai Foundation, Ms. Rita Sachdev Director .Mr. Nikhil Kulshrestha, Dean academics presided over the ceremony.

On the occasion. Prof. D.K. Banwet, Department of Management Studies, IIT New Delhi in his address congratulated the students and encouraged them to work towards fulfilling their dreams and aim at becoming young entrepreneurs by building their lives on a strong foundation of Ethics and Values.


Delivering the convocation welcome address director of NSB-NIILM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, New Delhi, Ms. Sachdev also in her report highlighted various innovative steps taken by the institute to make the institute obtain a distinctive position among the premier B-Schools and thanked the graduating students for their contribution towards enriching the academic and the community environment of the campus.

At the convocation, three PGDBM students were awarded silver medals. The recipients were Santosh Gupta (Specialization - Marketing), Roohi Sinha (Specialization - HR), Vikas Gupta (Specialization - Finance). Santosh Gupta was awarded the gold medal for meritorious performance.

A convocation address is an occasion not only for looking back but more importantly for looking forward. While addressing the students Prof. Ashoke K. Dutta, IIM Shillong suggested the graduating students to always think positive and work hard to be successful in all endeavours.

The convocation proceedings started in the morning of 4th December 2010, at the Sai Auditorium, New Delhi. The convocation procession was led by Mr. Nikhil Kulshrestha, Dean, Professors, Ms. Rita Sachdev, Director, NSB-NIILM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, New Delhi, Mr. Vinay Rai, President Rai Foundation, Guest of Honour, Prof. D .K. Banwet and the Chief Guest, Prof. Ashoke K. Dutta. After the felicitation by the President Mr. Vinay Rai, Chief Guest and the President Rai Foundation, handed out the diplomas to graduating candidates and bestow honour upon other deserving scholars of the institute for their illustrative scholastic pursuits.

The gathering, which included parents and relatives of passing out students, erupted in joy once the convocation was declared closed.
